Our Valentine

We didn't have much planned for the day but it was fun to see Ally so excited about Valentines Day. She had a party at school and brought monkey valentines with mini tattoos for her friends and came home with quite the collection of goodies. Karl made us a great dinner and Ally showed us all her cards in the bag she made. We had a few deliveries come to the house so after she opened her present from us, she dug right into the boxes from the Grandparents. Earlier in the week she got a giant box of goodies from Great Grandma Marilyn with pounds of candy in it so she quickly figured out these other boxes needed to be opened asap. She loved the big stuffed gorilla from Grandma Sharon and her princess pjs from Grandma Julie, plus all the candy too. She loved that many of the packages were loaded with M&Ms which are her "potty candies". She was very excited about going potty a lot so she could eat them all. She is almost fully potty trained but we just stick with what works so its important to always have M&Ms on hand.

Funny Things Ally Says

Time for another posting about the funny things Allyson says. This week she received a giant Valentine's Day package from Great Grandma Marilyn and Grandpa Jack. It was full of all kinds of goodies so on Friday I let her have a little package of Skittles rather than her usual fruit snacks on the way home from school. Not sure if she ever had them before so here was our conversation on the ride home.

Me: Ally, are those good? What color is your favorite? (expecting her to say yellow because she always does)
Ally: I like the red ones
Me: Red? Because they taste like cherries?
Ally: No, they match my dress.

No argument from me, she was right!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Yesterday was Karl's birthday and we just had a low-key celebration at home after work. He cooked his own seafood feast for dinner and Ally and I picked out a special cheesecake birthday cake and got him a few small gifts. You will be able to see the evidence of Ally's little meeting with the concrete step over the weekend in the photos but don't worry- she is totally fine and it looks better every day. Happy Birthday Daddy, we love you!
